Markus Fischer works as a Consultant Development + Connectivity in Stefan Burghardt's team. As a developer, he takes care of the transfer and modernisation of ECC developments, creates Fiori apps with the RESTful Application Programming Model and SAPUI5 and creates interfaces to connect environment systems to the SAP S/4HANA system. He also has a high level of expertise in the SAP Business Technology Platform.
‘I've never had a job interview like this before,’ says Markus and smiles. After completing his degree in industrial engineering, he applied to a wide variety of companies - but what won him over during the interview at GAMBIT was actually quite simple: the humanity.
‘At many other companies, I had to solve puzzles under time pressure during the first interview,’ Markus recalls. ‘But here I was simply valued as a person from the very first minute. It quickly became clear where I was heading.’
A fortunate coincidence - also because Markus, as an industrial engineering graduate, should actually have taken a completely different career path. The fact that he decided to start as an ABAP programmer was like a lateral entry into a completely different industry - and straight after graduating.
‘But it was perfect for me,’ says Markus. ‘I've always been interested in technical topics and programming - and now I can combine exactly these interests with my knowledge from the business world.’
As a developer, Markus now has the opportunity to constantly immerse himself in new company processes and system landscapes. A real stroke of luck - for everyone involved.
Markus' points of view
‘In development, you have to specialise in certain topics,’ says Markus. That's why he is grateful for his colleagues, who always support each other with questions about their specialism.
What Markus particularly appreciates at GAMBIT is the freedom to organise his working hours as he wishes. Having the freedom to choose where and when he works from enriches his everyday life immensely.
Markus' thirst for knowledge is always focussed on the latest technical developments. He is happy to share his newly acquired expertise with his colleagues - and spreads innovative ideas throughout the company.
As a true globetrotter, Markus has already seen many corners of the world. He most often travels to South America.
