The reason for this lies in the architecture: Unlike SAP ERP 6.0 (OLTP and OLAPas separate systems, programmed indices, aggregates, etc.), the informationis no longer based on rows, but in columns. The advantage of thisarchitecture is that a column-based database can perform analyses andprocesses much faster (in real time) because it eliminates the need forindexes and aggregates.
