Nico Distler works as a project manager in Thomas Pasquale's team. In this role, he ensures that projects are completed on time, within the agreed budget and with the highest possible quality. Nico is particularly involved in roadmap projects and SAP S/4HANA implementations.
‘Here comes another typical consultant answer,’ says Nico and laughs. When asked whether he prefers to manage manageable roadmap projects or dive into the details of an SAP S/4HANA implementation, he replies: ‘It depends!’
‘If I do more roadmap projects, I have the chance to get to know the system landscape of a wide variety of companies. I find that incredibly exciting,’ says Nico. ‘But in implementation projects, I get a level of detail that I usually don't get with roadmaps.’
The main thing for Nico is that he wants to be challenged by a new project. Here, too, it's all about balance. ‘Of course, I don't want the sky to fall over me all the time - but if everything went exactly according to plan, it would be boring too.’
Nico feels most at ease when he can keep a cool head in the midst of the project storm. ‘It's important to me never to forget the people around me,’ he emphasises. ‘Of course, projects can get stressful. But I have to make sure that things calm down again afterwards.’
If Nico gives typical consultant answers, it's only because his character suits his profession so well: goal-orientated, ambitious and emphatic. That's how we like typical consultants to be.
