A coffee at Café de Flore, a visit to one of the more than 160 museums, a meeting with friends at L'Atelier des Lumières - for Elias, Paris is one of the most livable cities in the world. During his bachelor's degree in Aachen, he therefore made his long-cherished dream come true and moved to the French capital for a year to study. "The cultures that clash in this city and the exchanges in different languages, all that captivates me," says Elias. He has roots in Germany, Morocco and Italy, so he identifies strongly with the cosmopolitan city. Back in Aachen, Elias then gained his first professional experience at a financial services provider. Finally, he decides to specialize further and completes a master's degree in energy economics and computer science at Aachen University of Applied Sciences. "For companies today, know-how in IT is indispensable and for me it is as well. Innovative technologies, the development of algorithms and dealing with IT processes - I find it all fascinating. That's why I spent many a night at my desk back then," says Elias. He has now been part of GAMBIT since mid-2020, applying his knowledge in IT and finance as a consultant. In his free time, the avid basketball player is often drawn to travel - including time and again to Paris. "But I will still fulfill one dream that has nothing to do with Paris," he adds. "I definitely want to watch a basketball game in the stadium with my brothers in the U.S. one day, even if Dirk Nowitzki is unfortunately already retired now."
